REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Oct. 25, 2000... Certainty Solutions, Inc., the leading integrated managed services provider (IMSP) for companies with sophisticated Internet businesses, today announced the appointment of Bruce Nakao to its board of directors.

Mr. Nakao is a seasoned technology executive who has been involved with multiple public companies as a CFO. He brings to Certainty the perspectives of a senior executive and, in particular, the experience of shepherding companies through the important growth phase from a private start-up to a publicly held company.

Mr. Nakao was most recently senior vice president and chief financial officer at Ask Jeeves Inc., where he helped take the company public in July 1999. In addition, he oversaw the human resources, legal and investor relations departments. He also was involved in a number of acquisitions and helped start Ask Jeeves International and related joint-venture partnerships.

Prior to that, Mr. Nakao was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Puma Technology, Inc. from 1996-1999. He helped take the company public in December 1996 and was responsible for creating the personnel infrastructure for finance, human resources, information systems and other administrative functions.

Before that, Mr. Nakao was senior vice president and chief financial officer for Adobe Systems, Inc., where he helped take the company public in August 1986. During his 10-year tenure at Adobe, the company's revenue increased by more than 16,000 percent to over $750 million, while staff headcount rose from 45 to more than 2,300 employees. Mr. Nakao also helped set up Adobe Ventures-Adobe's venture capital fund-and was heavily involved in major public and private company acquisitions. In addition, he worked on international aspects of Adobe's growth, helping to set up the European and Japanese legal and operational structures.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Nakao held executive-level positions at Ross Systems, Dividend Industries, Inc. and Itel Corp. He was also a member of Arthur Andersen & Company's audit and consulting staff, during which time he received his California CPA certificate.

Mr. Nakao serves on the board of directors for Pumatech, Inc., If & Then Corp. and CalTrout, and is also an advisory board member of the University of Washington's School of Business. He is a graduate of Stanford University in Stanford, Calif., where he received his masters degree in business administration. Mr. Nakao completed his undergraduate work at the University of Washington in Seattle, Wash., where he received a bachelor of arts degree.
